MILITARY SERVICE ACT Wellington, Dec. 6. The Hon. .T. Allen stated to-day that the Military Service Act had neon placed on the statute book by Parliament. It wan the will of Parliament, and the Government was bound to enforce that will, and carry out all the provisions of the Act. WELLINGTON APPEALS. Wellington, Dec. 6. The first sitting of the Wellington Military Service Board was held to-day. The chairman (Mr. Cooper, S.M.) stated that a conference of chairmen of the board* would be held shortly, and it was probable that a universal policy as far as essential industries were concerned would be announced. I John A. McKay, who proved that he was 48 years of age, was exempted, also William White Field, a marine officer on a troopship, so long as he remains in his present occupation.
