Advice has Been received that Corporal P. Allen, of Xew 'Plymouth, who went to the front with the seventh reinforcements, is doing well. His sister, Mrs. W. McKay, of Moturoa, has received an interesting memento from him in the form of a cloth cover of a German helmet. Major D.. E Cardale, Chief Mounted Ins-tructor, Feßtherston Camp, has left the Gieytown Hospital, where he has been receiving treatment, and expects to return to duty in the course of a fef weeks. Major Cardale was returning to camp on his motor cycle, and when neat Gieytown the machine skidded, throwing the rider heavily and causing injuries to the head, with slight concussion of tha bra : n For many days the patient's erudition was critical, but he is now well on "flie way to recovery.
