The Waipuku toll-gate has now been is operation for twelve months, and during that period the Stratford Council has received £l4lß 13s 7d. The first six months was responsible for £750 19s lOd, and the period just ended £OO7 13s 9d. During the last six months 3529 motor-cars passed the gates. On Sunday a memorial service was lield in memory of Corporal Frank Marfell, son of the Toko family, who was killed in action recently. The Rev. C. K,. Howard, of Trinity Church, officiated.
