HORTICULTURAL SHOW.

FINE DISPLAY <PROMISED Entries closed last evening for the New Plymouth Horticultural Society's Spring Show, which will bo held in th» Whiteley Hall to-morrow. Tho proceeds ol tho show will be devoted to patriotic purposes, and in order to swell thes* fund* to the largest possible extent,, flowers and produeo will he sold at stalls that will be arranged in the show-room, and afternoon tea will be served in on adjoining room. tho schedule provides for SJS ckssc*, including II!) for pot plants, 103 for, roses, carnations, sweet peas, and othci cut; (lowers, H for bouquet and floral designs, 11 for children's floral dtaci, 47 for vegetables, and Ifl for fruit. Besides tho cash prizes that are being provided by the society, special prizes will be. given by the following: Mews. ,). Gibson, F. J\ Morshead, Hicks, C. Rasmussen, roses; Mrs. E. A. Walker, Mr. \V. Rowc, sweet peas; Mrs. E. Dockrill, Mrs. C. 11. Burgess, Mrs. Denny-Brown, Mi. H. R. Cattley, table, decorations; Messrs. Webster Bros., Mr. Newton King, vegetables. New Plymouth has been particularly favored this year with regard to the growth of its flowers, and a magnificent display of blooms should be made. The fact that the proceeds are being devoted to patriotio .purposes should provej a further inducement .o the public tq liberally support the society's effort*
