TARANAKI WOOL, SKIN, HIDE, AND' TALLOW SALES, j 'NEWTON KING'S REPORT. I submitted on Tuesday, 28tli November, a catalogue of 2250 sheepskins, 10 casks and 01 tins of tallow,-018 hides, and" 4044" calf skins. All wn6l was held over, ponding the decision of tho tlovernment in commandeering the whole of Now' Zealand's clijj. There was an average attendance! of buyers, -and I experienced keen competition throughout the sale. Sheepskins again advanced ',% d per lb., selling as high as 25s fid ea«h, and 780 dry skins were sold at lS'/id per lb. Tallow was easier than late rates. Hides again advanced %d., per lb., with an unsatisfied demand. Calf skins declined %d t# %<i per lb. -The prices realised at this sale should be extremely satisfactory to clients. I quote:— Sheepskins: Medium' to coarse crossbred, 13V4d; three-quarter wools, 13d; hoggets, 12d to 13'/,d; spring lambs, 10'/,d; dead; lid to ll'/jd; dead and dagged, S'%d to 9%d; Jagged, B'/ s d to 10% d; half-wools, lOd to 10% d; rough crossl>red, 12% d; butchers' pelts, 10y 4 d; inferior pelts, -2% d to 3d; dagged, l'/jd; skin pieces, G'/jd. Damp lines—EPcavy, 17s to 25s Gd; medium, 12s 6d to 15s 7d; light, 7s fld to 10s 7d; lambs, 3s 4d to 3s lOd; pelts, 3a Id to 3s 3d.
