CITIZENS' BAND.

CONCERT AT BREAKWATER. Probably the largest gathering yet seen at the Breakwater since the opening of the trams assembled there yesterday afteraoon, on the occasion of the Citizens' Band recital. The weather conditions were perfect, and the members of the hand were present in full force. The items were, apparently, very much appreciated. Mr. lovcll's cornet solo, "The Golden Pathway," and Mr. Brooks' trombone solo, "Out On the Deep," were well received, botli being old songs known to almost everybody. The selection "England" contained a number of old musical favorites, while tlio item, entitled ''Dreaming" (which, by the way, was being repeated for the third time by special [request), was again much admired. Two very beautiful hymns were submitted, "Fierce raged the Tempest" and ''Peace, Perfect Peace," and. the soft effects were extremely successful. The bandmaster feels the absence of a platform or rotunda greatly, as he cannot obtain tile same results from the band as can be achieved on the various rotundas throughout the town. The players arJ trundled about from place to place, owing to the niotoi car route (the turn in the road) being changed between the visits to the breakwater, whereas a stationary structure would obviate this.
