GERMAN FORCE SURRENDERS London, Dec, 1, An East African official dispatch stales that following the division of the main German force, a part whereof was defeated at Lupcmbe, the remaining portion. numbering 500, was isolated at Ilembule Mission Station and surrender ed on November 20. The remnants of Wahle's force, after losing half its strength, is moving eastwards towards Mahenoe. Wellington, Dec. 2. The. High Commissioner reports under ■.late London, Dee. 1 (12.25 p.m.):— General Smuts reports that in East Africa the main German force was divined. One part was caught between converging British columns and driven northwards, and the remainder was forced to surrendci north-eastwards of Neu Langenburg. The remnants of General Wahle's force is reduced to a half by casualties, and is making eastward for Mahenge.
