Mr. Cook promised that the Liberals would vote with the Government. The Assembly amended the Licensing Bill, providing for the registration of barmaids, and that after the passing of the Act no barmaids, except those now in th£ trade, should ho employed. Sydney, Dec. 1. The Government has decided to drop the Daylight Saving Bill owing to opposition in country constituencies. In the Assembly Mr. Hall announced that the Cabinet decided to hang tho Tottenham murderers. SHEARERS' WAGES. Melbourne, Dec. 1. The enmpuhovy conference between the representatives of the Australian Workers' and Pastoral ists' Association of the Commonwealth resulted in the signing of an agreement which gives substantia! increases under nil headings The agreement operates to-day and continues in force until a new award ;-: made. The rates for shearing are fixed at 28s per 100. The wages of shed hands are advanced to £2 15s, and youths to £2 ss. The wages of other hands and cruteliing rates have been proportionate ly increased. A PUBLISHER ACQUITTED. Sydney, Dee. 1.
