THE EMPIRE.
A GORGEOUS SPECTACLE, "MIDNIGHT AT MAXIM'S." The unique spectacular photoplay Midnight at Maxim's," will be screened at the Empire for to-night only. It is p play crowded with gorgeous scenes and with a strong comedy plot that serves to introduce all the characters at tlu famous night cabaret in New York, from which the title is obtained. The story tells of a ease of love at first sight by a student named Shye for a pretty girl whom he sees tying her shoe lace. Hp discovers she is a dancer at Maxim's Restaurant. He invites two of his friends to dinner at Maxim's, where they arc entertained delightfully by the numerous variety turns; some of them clever, some dainty and not a few daring in the manner of presentation. Eventually the charming girl who won Shye's heart appears, and she immediately captures the hearts of his friends. This leads to many complications of the most humorous nature, which are brought to a climax by discovering that her husband is the janitor of the place. It is a cleverly constructed play that will attract a crowded houses during this evening. A good supporting programme is added.
