WESTERN ATTACK.
ATTACKS REPULSED. London, November 39. Sir Douglas Haig reports:—There is continuous heavy enemy shelling lurthwanh of Ypres, Our casualties i!re small. We exploded a mine southeast of Souchez and consolidated the i rater, where we repulsed three tomb attacks.Paris, November '?8. A commnnif|Ue says:—There was a wight attack on a small p0.4 cast of Maison de Champagne. which was easily repulsed. It was calm elsewhere. CONSIDERABLE ARTILLURYING. Received Nov. 2!), 11 p.m. London. Nu\. 2!), General Sir Douglas Haig states: There is considerable artillerying on our front on both sides of the Ancre. Oiy retaliation was prompt and effective. The enemy's trench mortars were active southward of Annentieres. Our aircraft attacked several places of military importance, causing large explosions.
