NEW SOUTH WALES REVENUE. Received Nov. 29, 11 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 29. In the Assembly, Mr. Holman, supplementing the financial statement on September 0, estimated that the 191(1-17 revenue would be £20,798,000. ai increase of £1,109,00(1. He expects the introduction of the totalizator will produce £200,000. The estimated expenditure is £20,13G,00f1, an increase of £1,211,009, with a surplus of £23,000. The pensions ami war services show an increase of £430,000.
During the Budget speech, Mr. Holman announced that the National Ministry, although averse to this method of raising revenue definitely decided to introduce a measure legalising the totalizator, lie contemplated the Bill would sectfre reasonaole consideration, ur.d claimed that the proprietary clubs would not prohibit bookmakers from operating 011 the courses.
