THE WOOL MARKET.
CONSTERNATION tAT HOME, DEALERS, BROKERS, 4c, PUT ftUB OF ACTION, Aust.ralian-N.Z. Cable Association Received Nov, 28, 8.55 p.m. London, Nov. 27. . Wool arrivals to date amount it) 144,500 bales; forwarded, 05,500; available, !X),ftOO. The market is in'a statu of consternation, as all the dealers, brokers ,and colonial importers feel tliey are being put outj?f business. Although there may be willingness to acquiesce during the war period, they are strongly hoping that immediatelyafter the war colonial interests will support English interests in demanding the return to normal conditions. There is great apprehension lest the present action may be an attempt to nationalise the wool industry. Regarding the price, a feeling prevails that the Australians have made a fair realisation, and it is considered the price is decidedly advantageous foi colonial wool, as compared with what is being paid for tlio English clip. It is generally understood that the' Government will also secure the South African clip. The Government's action is a great blow to the United States, which will now have to look almost) entirely to South America for supplies. Still, the moot question is whether auctions of the new clips will bo held in London. The difficulty i.s that supplies, will not be available, owing, it is expected, to the slow arrival under the present tonnage difficulties. It will''be surprising [if sufficient has arrived in the next few, months to satisfy the Government con-! tractors' necessities. I •
Business on the Bradford market 1* practically at a standstill, except lon s-pot lots, which have further advanced*
