The ekv was overcast, but fine weather prevailed. There was a large attendance. The course was very heavy. The sum of £27,472 10s. passed through the totalizator, compared with £22,804 10s. for the corresponding day of last year. Results:

A protest was lodged against Carbines? in the first race, on the ground that, she is alleged to have won two races previously at Pirongia, and had been trained by an unlicensed trainer. The stewards upheld the protest. The first money was held, pending further information; meantime the totalisator to pay out. ; The owner informed the stewards that the horse, was stolen from him, and entered for the Pirongia races without 1 his knowledge.
