IMPERIAL CHALLENGE SHIELD MATCH NEW PLYMOUTH BOYS' HrCII SCHOOL'S GREAT WINS.

Jloyes (Principal Ot _t)iu New Plymouth Hoys'- High School) of the results of the Imperial Challenge Shield competition, H)](j, in both senior and junior divisions, of which the local boys secured premier honors, and the Senior B team also gained third place. Under the auspices of the National Rifle Association, the competition ia held annually throughout the Empire, For the senior division, Lieutenant-Colonel Raymond W« Schumacher, of South Africa, generously gave a silver challenge shield, value £IOO, a 'bronze .replica, as well as silver and bronzy commemorative medals, and £"238 in money, namely £144 in prizes and £O4 in grants towards ammunition to unsuccessful teams. For the junior division he gave a silver ihallenge shield, value £IOO, a bronze replica, as well as silver and bronze commemorative medals, and £172 10s. in money, namely, £llß in prizes and £34 10a. in grants towards ammunitions to unsuccessful teams. As a result of the victories this year, the High School Senior A team liolds the Challenge Shield for a year, gains a bronze re-plica, and is awarded eleven silver mejdals and £ls; the Senioi B team is awarded nine bronze medals and £5; and the Jusior team holds the Challenge Shield for a year, gains a bronze replica, ajid is awarded nine silver medals and £ls, In view of the school's phenomenal performance, Lieut-enant-Colonel 'Schumacher maile an extra donation of £2O.
