THE EMPIRE.
A STRIKING FILM SUCCESS. "THE ISLAND OF REGENERATION." A picture of striking interest, tootli on account of the subject and the method of presenting it, will be shown at the Empire to-night and to-morrow. "The Island of Regeneration" i.-, really a question by its author, Cyrus Townsend Brady, as to whether platonic love between a young woman and a man is ppssible under eircumstaneos which throw them together constantly. The experiment with the wealthy clubman failed, and the girl, escaping from him, is cast on an island, where she meets the only inhabitant, a castaway, who nad lived alone on the island for twenty years. He had been but a child when throwji on the beach years before, but had lived, almost without memory of his early life, unable to speak, but with all the primi tive feelings of a man. The strange couple r-e together for three years, the girl learning wider and truer views of life and love. The picture is said to bt wonderfully well enacted by Edith Storey and Antonio Morena, and gorgeously produced by the Blue Ribbon Feature Company, and has been most successful. although greatly discussed, wherever shown. The plans of reserved seats are now open at Colliar's.
