A Sydney wire states that the Niagara has sailed, and has aboard Stead's horses, including Kilboy and Sasanof.
TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB.
DISTRICT COMMITTEE MEETING
The district committee met on Tuesday night. The programme for the Opunakc Racing Club's annual meeting in March was approved. Trainers' licenses were granted to the following:—H. Eva. P. Coffey and T. Carson. Jockey's license:—jas. M. Cathro. JOCKEY CLUB COMMITTEE. This committee met at the conclusion of the district committee meeting. The following offers for catering for the Christmas meeting were accepted: Mr. A. Woollcr, catering; Mrs. Kirkby, tea kiosk; Mr. E. Whittle, liootlis. Transfer of the filly Princess Marie from Mr. J. P. Buchanan to Mr. G. H. Hume for the third Taranaki Stakes was approved. The Railway Department wrote that train arrangements at Christmas would be the same as last year. The use of seats and tables, etc., was granted to the Red Cross Committee for use at the fete to be held at Aotea on December 14. The attention of the Borough Council was to be drawn to the dangerous state of the Cover street hill, the borough to be asked to put same in order in time for the Christmas meeting. Accounts for £3(i were passed for payment.
