STRATFORD A. AN'D P. SHOW. (I'i'om Our Own Correspondent.) Entries for the forthcoming show arc now reaching the secretary in steadily increasing numbers. The schedule has been revised, and a large number of new class?gg have been added, as well as a number of new and attractive competitions. When it is" considered that Stratford is situated in the very heart of the finest dairying district in the Dominion, the dairy stock on exhibition at this year's show should be worth going a long way to see, and the very liberal prize-money allotted to each section should induce a record entry. Other classes included in the schedule are always interesting. Classes are provided for home-made bread of different kinds, scones, tarts, cakes, pastry, shortbread,, plum pudding, toffee, sweets, jam, bottled fruits, &e. Prizes will be given for school children under l(i year,? in plain sewing, hemstitching, and cushion in stencil. Schedules can be had on application to Mr. A. D. Stanley, secretary, at the Association's office; or by writing. Intending exhibitors -are reminded to get their entries in at once, as the entry lists close to-morrow (Thursday), November 23. GENERAL. Mr. J. B. Richards left by the South express this morning, and will attend the annual Chamber of Commerce meeting at Wellington this week. Another Stratford gentleman who went South this moning was the Rev. J. Dawson Madiil, who is attending the Wesleyan Synod meeting at Wellington this week. Tlie Strafford School scholars were to have been examined to-day, but owing to the indisposition of the Chief Inspector this has been postponed till Thursday. To-morrow (Wednesday) the annual meeting of the Stratford County Council will be held. Besides the usual monthly business, the election of a chairman foi the nev. v,i!| be held. There was a splr " ' at St. Andrew's Kali The occasion was a fare,,. . tendered to Mr. and Mrs. P. 1!. £ who are leaving Stratford to their residence in Hokitika, where Mr. Stewart takes over the managership of the bank there. During their stajr here the departing guests have been identified with Presbyterian Church matters hence the regret of the congregation at losing then services. The Rev. J. Dawson Mjidill occupied the chair. During the evening the chairman presented Mr. and Mrs. Stewart with silver plate and a photo, album. He expressed appreciation of their efforts on behalf of the church during their stay in Stratford, and trusted the new move to the Soutft Island would be beneficial to both. Other speakers who made eulogistic references wore Messrs. R. H. Robinson, Lilly, and 'P. Thomson.
