A NELSON CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Nelson, Last Night. V) In the Magistrate's Court, before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., an old woman named Maria McGonagle, a widow, sued Henry Cooper, veterinary surgeon, and Margaret Cooper, his wife, for f£s®, money received by defendants from plaintiff, and for the return of a will. It appeared from tho evidence that plaintiff, who was unwell at tie time, boarded at defendants' house. She had an account in the Savings Bank, and while at Cooper's she signed withdrawal slips. Mrs. Cooper drew £56 in , all, and gave it to plaintiff. Some of the money was spent in liquor, groceries, and fruit for plaintiff. A will in favor of Mrs. Cooper was drawn up by her husband, at the request of piaintill', and signed and witnessed. The Magistrate said the evidence showed plaintiff was neglected wliile at defendants' house. The will was strikingly corroborative of plaintiff'# story. He coulij only think that plaintiff was kept supplied with liquor until the will ' was to defendants' advantage to do so. Judgment was given for plaintiff fof £4"), with costs, an allowance .of £2O being made for money spent for iher benefit. The will having been given up, there was no need to make an order M to it.
