I URUTI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The weather here has been, like most I'ilii-r places, fairly wet. but so far, the cows seem to be doing very well. The farmers would, no doubt, a good spell of fine weather. On Tuesday evening, November 14. ue had the pleasure of hav'ng Bishop Averill out here for an evening service. the wet weather quite a large L imber of people were present, and all crjoyed the Bishop's very helpful adi'ivss. After the service a social evening was held, when everybody had the (iiportunitv of meeting the Bishop. While suppei was being partaken of, musical items were contributed by Mrs. Bryan, Mr. Borrows, and Mr. Johnston, all being much enjoyed. A very successful social was also held •n the Uruti Hall on Thursday evening, November 10, in connection, with the Methodist Church. There was a large attendance and a very enjoyable evening was spent. The social was presided m'er by the Minister. Mr. Lawrence, the Rev. and Mrs. Hinton, of Waitara, also being present. Those who contributed towards the very successful programme v.ore:—Rev. and Mrs. Hinton. Mr. Lawrence. Mrs. Bryan. Mrs. S. Hall, Miss Mawdsley, Miss Richardson, Mr. OoiTn-.■-ton, and Mr. Murker. There were also t.w; very enjoyable items from the Mcunt Messenger school children. A sp'.endid supper provided by the ladies was done full justice to, and after singing the National Anthem, the chairman [.Used with the Benediction. In Thursday, December 7, there is to an ''Anzac Afternoon" in the Uruti sclipol, when some very nice things will lie disposed of. In the evening a school concert will be held, which we hope will Id largely attended.
