THE "KABALA."
To the Editor. Sir,—l do not take any credit to myself for "wiphg the 'floor" wit"h the charlatan who posed before t'he New Plymouth public as a ''scientist." for a fortnight. Tho task was so easy that any 34-year-old schoolboy could have lone it. He was so absolutely ignorant that he couldn't help showing his want of knowledge of the commonest everyday things, but, ignorant as he was, he was not so ignorant as j'our correspondent, "Pantheist," who comes to light this morning, and says that God's name Is written as a "circle with a centre stroke," thus, I presume, ' making a good, up-to-date English 10. Kabalism isn't English, at all. A circle with a single stroke would 'have no meaning for the ancient Kabalist. Put the Hebrew H, which stands for 5, in the centre, and the meaning is as clear as daylight. 1 15 is the complement of the units, and no one with two grains of common sense would think of denying it. "Pantheist" should lyvve remembered that Mr. K. has already advised him not to be silly, and have abstained from advertising his ignorance.—I am, etc., J. G. ELLIS.
