ENTERTAINMENTS.
SPECIAL FEATURES TO-DAY AT i THE EMPIRE." The Lubin Company has lately been turning out sonic very lino six-reel subjects mostly big stories of out-door life. "The Eagle's Nest," which is the star item to-day at the Empire, is such a one. This 0000 foot feature-play is adapted from the book by Edwin Ardui and the author stars in the picture together with Ron'aine Feilding, who will be rememberea for the fine work in "The Valley of Lost Hope," the last six-reel Lubiii which was so universally successful. The film under review portrays in beautifully clear photography a big story of the wild days when the. long emigrant trains trekked to the Western Mining Countrv of America. There are fights with Indians, massacres, huge mountains and wonderful scenery. It is a tale of adventure crammed with excitement and melodramatic surprises. The story takes its name from the fact that on the cliff side above the hut wherein a lot of the action takes place there is a nest of young eagles. A rather remarkable "close-up" shows the mother bird on the nest as "she crouches end glares malevolently at the intruders whom she thinks would rob her of her cherished ones. There is plenty of thrill and romance and with some light comedy in I'Thc Eagle's Nest." It will hold stron-> interest for those who love adventure in the open intermingled' with dramatic, heai t interest. Included in the programme Mutt and Jeff cartoon and tiie latent war films to hand; also, by special request, the management will again screen the popular Charles ChaplinFireman film, as an erotra item. Seats may be reserved at Collier's.
