MINERS' STRIKE.
.ustralian-N.Z, Cable Association. Sydney, Nov. 15. The Premier agreed'to the passage of a Bill restricting the eity supply of electric power. To date 40 vessels have lieen laid sip in Sydney and crews numbering SOQ paid off. In the Assembly, althougn a numb-'i-of questions were put, Ministers declined to state what action was contemplated to terminate the strike. Mr. Hall stated that if he believed granting the miners' demands would mean permanent peace he would be strongly in favor of acceding, but past history gave no such guarantee. Mr.' Holman gave notice to introdues a Bill to prolong the life ot Parliament, * Sydney, Nov. 15.
Practically the whole of the Broken Hill mines will be closing shortly if til? coat strike continues. The Brisbane Gas Company will be forced to cease supplying the public, and serious dislocation is threatened from lack of power for gas engines in factories. It is feared that many military* contracts will be brought iO a standstill. All train services have been teduccd 50 per cent.

Received Nov. 15, 11 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. Tiie Coal Conference meets in Melbourne to-morrow. The naval authorities have decided to commandeer the ferry companies' stocks, only permitting a very limited service. The Government lias also seized all coke supplies. A thousand men were put off at the Lithgow Small Amis Factory to-day. All the coal-lumpers are now idle. The Government wheat ships are held up in Newcastle. The Labor Council has decided to support the miners if State action is not I :>.!■: en.
