NEW FREEZING WORKS.
NOT CONTROLLED BY AMERICAS: TKiI'ST. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wanganui, Last Night. The New Zealand Refrigerating Com* pany's new works at Imlay were officially opened today. The works are the largest and the most modern of thoir kind in the Dominion. The buildings cover over seven acres of ground, and the killing capacity is 8000 sheep and 200 head of beef daily. There is cold storage accommodation for a quarter of a million carcases of mutton. At the ceremony in connection willi the opening, the Hon. Dr. MeNab re feneil to a rumor that the American Mont Trust was associated with the new industry. He said lie disbelieved the rumor. Such a monopoly would more likely operate when Now Zealand pro ducts were sent overseas. Mr. H. A. Knight, chairman of dire tors, gave an emphatic denial to tlv rumor. He said the company was pur?ly a Xcxv Zealand one. including its finance. When it was lecided to erect the present.
