ON THE SEA.
LINER ARABIA SUNK. TORPEDOED WITHOUT WARNING. TWO ENGINEERS. MISSING. London, Nov. 8. The - liner Arabia has. been sunk in the Mediterranean and all tha mails lost. Wellipg'ton, Nov. !). The High Commissioner reports under date London, Nov. 8, 11.20 a.m.: — The Admiralty reports that the liner Arabia was torpedoed without warning. All the passengers were saved. Two engineers are missing, and arc believed to have been 'killed. London, Nov. 8. The Admiralty reports that- the Arabia was torpedoed and sunk without warning in the Mediterranean at noon on Monlay. The passengers, numbering 437, of whom 109 were women and children, were picked up by various vessels diverted to the scene of the disaster. Two engineers are missing. It is believed* they were killed by the explosion. The rest of the crew was saved. The Arabia is one of tho older P. and O. liners. She was built in 1898, and was a vessel of 7933 tons and with a speed of 18 knots. Wa,> ~ ■ «<3 j , MAILS' PLACE 01? "RIGIN London, Nov. 9. A steamer has landed the crews of the English steamer Seatonia and the trawlers Caswell, Harrat Castle, and Kyoto, all torpedoed. NEUTRAL LOSSES VESSELS ANI) LIVES. Stockholm, Nov. 8. Sweden has lost 06 vessels and 222 lives during the war, apart from ton lost in the'recent German raids on the Finnish coast.
