THE AMBULANCE FUND (From Our Own Correspondent.) The following letter has been received by Mrs, H. J. Barnard from the Hon. J. Allen: —"I have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of October 25, with" cheque payable to the Defence Minister for £OOO. The money will be transmitted •to the High Commissioner with instructions that he is to expend it in the purchase of a motor ambulance for the New Zealand General Hospital in London. Instructions will be given for the desired inscriptions to be placed upon the ambulance, _and for a photograph of the car when" completed to be forwarded to New Zealand in order that you may show it. to those who have donated the money. Please accept yourself, and convey to those who have been kind enough to subscribe, my appreciation of their generous gift. I 'am sure the sick and wounded in London will be very grateful to you all for your thoughtfulness." '
