SUCCESSFUL TEAR'S WORK _ The Kawaroa Pa.rk Foreshore Beautifying Society held its fourth annual meeting in the Park Bungalow last evening. Mr. W. A. Collis (chairman o( the Borough Council Reserves Committee) presided ovei a largo attendance. Evidence of the interest the ladies take in the society's activities wa.shown in the fact that there were fifteen ladies present. In moving the adoption of ihe report anil balance-sheet, which appeared in Thursday's Daily News, the president (Mr. V. H. Beal) said a considerable amount of work had be2n carried 01 t during the year. The popularity of the park had so increased that the committee had found it necessary to cnlan>3 the bungalow. By voluntary iabor, to a large extent, considerable improvement had been effected at the park. Mr. Beal said the society's financial position was highly satisfactory. Thera was a small debt on the bungalow, but that should not cause the incoming committee any anxiety. There was a, balance in hand of £37 10s. Part of this was required for a suitable entrants and wall. Mr. Beal expressed the committee's gratitude to the public for their support. He considered the liability on the bungalow would «oon be wiped off. The chairman supported the adoption of the report, and complimented the committee on the excellent work it had done. Many citizens had been working for years tp improve the foreshore, anil they had done much to enhance the popularity of New Plymouth. The result of this was to make the town more attractive to visitors trom the country districts and other towns. The report was adopted. The election of ocers resulted as follows:—Matron, Mr. W. L.
