A monthly service of steamers from New York to New Zealand and Australia is in future to be run by the Luckcnbach Line, two of wliobes vessels recently called at Auckland. The arrangement that has been made is for the homeward-bound steamers to New York to call at Newcastle after discharging all cargo for Australasian ports, there to pick up a cargo of coal for Chili. At the latter place freights of nitrates are to be secured, and the steamers will then complete thir home run either to New York or Baltimore. Considerable interest has been taken in the Luckenbach Line in New Zealand on account of the allegations made respecting the nationality of the owners of the line. Mr Ebcy, the local representative of the line, stated that the company had been established for over forty years. The line is controlled by native-born Americans, and is financed by American capital.
