ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MOTOR ACCIDEXT. A motor accident occurred iwr miles this side of Waverlev at about y. o'clock last night. Mr. J. D. Stewart, draper, of Patea, was returning with a friend from Waverlev, when he had a blow-out in his tyre, and the car skid'iied and overturned, pinning Mr. Stewart underneath. Just behind was Mr. V. 11. Washburne, of New il'lymouth, who got him clear, and conveyed him back to Waverlev, where he was attended to by the local doctor, who found his injuries to be serious. The passenger was only slightly hurt.
DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE. Christchurch, Nov. 1. Frederick Wyntt, aged H2, died in the hospital this morning, after beii.g arrested for 'drunkenness. At the inquest a verdict of death from heart failure, caused by chronic alcoholism, was returned,
