EVERY PRECAUTION TAKES. Press Association. Auckland, Ivor. ?. The following statement was madu this evening by the Hon. Arthur Myers:—"Notwithstanding the prosecutions that recently have taken place in. regard to breaches of military contracts, the evidence has made it very clear that every care and attention were given to ,the drawing up of the specifications prior to calling for tenders, so as to ensure that articles served out to the troop* would he of the very best quality. In addition, it has been made clear that the very closest scrutiny and examination was made on delivery of such article-;. Everything specified must be maintained, otherwise the keenness of the Director of the Equipment and Ordnance Store detect'! ,ui;v defect:!.'-
