GOLDEN WEDDING.

MR. AND MRS. WILCOCK. Mr. and Mrs. Wileock, of Hipanjro street, Wanganni east, celebrated their golden wedding on Saturday last, a large number gf friends and relatives attending to do them honor on this auspicious occasion, and a number of telegrams were received from those unable to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Wileock arrived in New Zealand by the good ship Edwin Fox in April, 1875. and came on to Wanganui oy steamer, thence, going to Feilding by horse and bullock teams, and Mr. Wileock started on work for Messrs. Jas. and C. Bull on the Aorangi railway bridge. After this was finished he commenced on the railway, and after a few years was appointed foreman of works for the Foxton-Wanganui-Netv Plymouth section. Many important alterations were made under ' his supervision. He retired from the railway service on attaining the age of 00 years (1903) and has. been engaged in farming operations for several years. Mr. Wileock is 73 years of age, and was born in Yorkshire. Mrs. Wileock is 70, h;r birthplace being Cheshire. There are eight of a family—Mrs. Woolford, Tariki, Taranaki; John Wileock, Palmerston N.; Mrs. Gavcy, Palmcrston N.; Mrs. A. Gibson, Wanganui; Mrs, 0. Walsh, Petone; Alick Wileock, Midhirst; Charles Wileock, Ballance; Mary Wileock, Wanganui East; and 32 grandchildren.
