The creditors included two auctioneers, a farmer, a carrier, three grocers, and other tradespeople. Debtor state.l that he commenced farming at Inslev.oad seven years ago. He bought a farm of Kt acres, for which he paid down the sum of £10(1. He then bought 14 head of cattle. He borrowed money on the security provided by the cattle Several of the 'beasts died. The debtor raid the farm did not pay, and he. got steadily behind in his payments. He was. sold up by his principal creditors, and lit lost everything. Five years ago he came to New' IPlymouth, and had been working as a casual hand in the railway goods shed. He had a wife and five children, and it took" all he could earn to feed and clothe them. Debtor said lie could make no offer to his creditor;. A meeting of creditors was called for Friday last, but it lapsed for want of a quorum. No further action will be taken by the Deputy Assignee
