The Age publishes a sensational account of a supposed attempt to assassinate Mr Hughes, who. recently refei>ed over one hundred threatening ktt.rs. it appears that a constable saw a man attempting to ?nter Mr. Hughes' bedH.oni at midnight. The constable fired, but missed the man, who escaped in the MORE INCENDIARISM A GERMAN ARRESTED. " Received October 29, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 27. Lliree suspicious outbreaks of fira occurred in the A 7 ictoria Barracks during the past 24 hours. A quantity of cotton waste and grease was found, but timely discovery prevented damage. A German har been arrested in connection with these fires.
