FIIvAL- SCREENING OF '-BOOTLES' BAB V' TO-NIGHT. There was presented at The Empire last night the Lcndon Film Company's representation of Kdna Flugrath and a st.ai cast in a superb picturisation of the v/i.-'ely-read book bv John Strange Winter, "Booties' Baby"—a delightful comedy drama of military aiul social life, with many ten'.e scenes and a plot that er j'erces sympMhy. "Booties," the popular mau of the regiment, returning to his quarters, finds a strange baby on lu? bed. Inquiries prove fruitless, so ho decide to adopt the child. The little one is given the name of Mignon, and grows up to be the pet of the regiment. Wxcnce she came, who was her father, and liow "Booties" fell in love with Mignon's motile*, are the features which go to make this a screen play that is entrancing. Also on the programme are the "Gaumont Giaphic," "The Siren" (Vita, drama), ''The Pearl of the Adriatic" (beautiful natural scenery), and "Mutt and Jeff in the Trenches" (comedjr cartoon). MONDAY AND TUESDAY* REX BEACH'S FAMOUS NOVEL IN PICTURES. ■Kirk Anthony, son of a traction millionaire gets into trouble with the police o-er a brawl ; p a cafe, and a friend of his puts him, in a half muddled state, ard penniless, aooard a ship leaving for Panama, On the voyage Kirk meets Mrs. Courtland;, who, with her husband, is bound for Panama on a diplomatic mission of importance. She develops a strong liking for the irresponsible young fellow. Meanwhile Anthony's father, d ; ?gi'sted at his son's nmd escapade, disowns him. At Panama ICirk gets m'xed up in a fracas with the local fire brigade and police eommandante, and is landed in the local prison much the worse for wear. The Courtlandts manage to obtain his release. He commences work as a train conductor on the Panama transportation, but before entering ucon his duties has a holiday, during which he visits the Courtlandts. On a t-ip to Taboga. Mrs. Courtlandt contrives that she and Kirk shall miss the boat and thus be forced to remain on the island all night. Jn the morning Courtlandt- meets them on the beach with expressionless face and says ho has a boat to take them to the mainland. Kirk fail in love with a Spanish girl named Chiqnita and b. comes engaged to her. Mrs. Courtlandt, in an angry scene, threatens Kirk. The story of Kirk Anthony's making good, of how he married C''kjuita despite the counter-plotting of Mrs. Courtlandt, of the tragic end of Courtlandt and )\irk's apprehension on a murder charge, and how he cleared his nsrr.f; with the aid of the decisive intervention in Panamanian affairs of oU Pa J win K. Anthony, forms the most engrossing and richly humorous film plays siire "The Spoilers." This enthralling story will be introduced in motion picture at The Empire on Monday and Tuesday next.
