LADIES' PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE (From Our Own Correspondent.)' Stratford, Friday. Tlio ladies of Stratford associated with the Stratford Ladies' Committee lire busily engaged making something that can bo useful fur our soldiers iu Europe or Africa, or for some unfortunate family in stricken Belgium or Serbia. On Saturday tliey get busy with the cake-dish and oven, and visitors patronise so freely that frequently the sum earned makes a tidy amount. At present the guiding hands are Mesdames J. W. Boon (Mayoress), A. W. Budge (sec.), and R. H. White (treasurer), who are ably assisted by others eager to assist in a good purpose. Tomorrow (Saturday! the Red Cross rooms' takings will go to the Lady Liverpool Fund. To the uninitiated it may be explained that this fund is mainly for those in tho trenches, and also to purchase necessary articles for the soldier on active duty. All honor to these lady workers for tlieir wholehearted efforts. ~ A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. The President, Mr. E. Jackson, was in the chair at the executive meeting on Thursday evening.
