Mrs .John Cow, who died at NortTiKa=.t Valloy, ftunedin, last, woe!;, wai in hrr 103 rd year. She was s native! of Anchterarder, Scotland.
The death has occurred in London of Mr. Allison Smith, formerly of the railway service in New Zealand, and .subsequently locomotive superintendent of tho V'.ctorian railways.
Information has been received that Private J. Rea. of the nth Battalion. P.oy;/l Fusiliers, the eldest son of .Mr. and Mrs. D. Rea. of Urttti, is missing and believed dead. His loss was reported on July 17 in France. Private Rea waj only 171- years of age.
Mr. Hugh Kearns, who died at Otakeho on Tuesday,.was a very old resident of the Waimate Plains, having resided on the Tikatn road for over thirty years. He was a brbther of Mrs. A. O'Donncll, Inaha, and of Mr. Jamcl Kearns, Otakeh*
