HATATUA AGAIN REFLOATED. According to advice received in English mails, tlie Shaw, Savill and. Allbion Company's liner Matatua, which has been ashore at Peter's River, St. Mary's Bay, .Newfoundland, since tlie end of July, has been successfully refloated 1 . The Matatua has had a run of exceptionally bad fortune. She eaujht fire at Halifax, and was the scene of a terrific explosion, which resulted in tlie death of Captain Gillman, one of the best-known masters in the Shaw, Savill and Albion Companys' .service. IS'lie was then sunk toy the authorities to prevent the fire spreading, and after considerable difficulty was raised again. The vessel was then despatched for England to have her insulation renewed, but had hardly got away from the scene of her precious mishap before she was hard and fast on the rocks. It was generally thought locally that her position was hopeless, and the news just received is all the more welcome. She is, however, not quite out of the wood yet, as is indicated by a rate of 10 per cent, being paid against -constructive total loss.
