I THE Y.M.C.A. CONVENTION. ' Cable Association. ] Sydney, Oct. 20. The Y.M.C.A. convention discussed the need for nationalising the work of the association. Air. George Fowlds, on hehalf of the New Zealand delegates, recommended a scheme for an Imperial organisation, New Zealand to be considered a separate unit. New Zealand would, however, continue in association with the convention of Australia.
DEATH SENTENCE COMMUrKD. Sydney, Ort. 20. The sentence on, Edward Staiuer has been commuted to imprisonment for Jifo. (Stajner, .in a mask, walked into a Chinese house at Auburn and shot and wounded three Chinese before rolling tlem. He was sentenced to death. i
