The remarkaible expansion of the trade between Japan and Australia, and the possibilities of still further development, has (says a Sydney paper) caused another company to decide upon establishing another service between Kobe, Yokohama and the main ports of Australia. The line will be for the cargo traffic only, several vessels suitable for that business being available, and it is reported that the first sailing will be made this month. From what can 'lie ascertained, the steamers will at first be despatched monthly, but as trade conditions expand more frequent sailings will be arranged for. Negotiations regarding agency work have been opened up with a Sydney firm well known in shipping circles, and a further announcement is expected at an early date.
