At the annual meeting of shareholders of the Piliama company last week, the report showed that whey butter to the value of £lS2."> los Id was made during the cheese-making period. The average payment throughout the year for butter-fat was 12.f1d. Tr August a further 3d per lb over the whole year was paid, and account sales since to hand will enable a further payment of 3d per lb to be made now. When all account sales are to hand there will be a further payment available. Statistics for the vear as are follow: —Milk received for butter, l,fllu.ni;aUi3; buttertat, 71,7151b5; butter made, 84,1141b5; over-run, 17 per cent.; lbs mipjl.to lib butter, 22.71b5; average test, £69; milk received during cheese-making, 12.54!t,270 lbs; butter-fnt, -15">.3741b5; cheese made, l,310,38.")lbs; lbs milk to lib cheese, 9.8; lbs cheese to lib butter fat, 2.009; average test. 3.77. The Pigeon Bay Dairy Co., Akaroa, paid out 20% d per lb for butter-fat last season.
