Y.M.C.A.

ANNUAL CONVENTION. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. Sydney, October IP. The fourth National Convention of the Y.M.C.A. has opened. It discussed a memorandum expressing the desire of the New Zealand Association for separation from Australian control, without reaching finality. Mr. Virgo stated that if the present progress continued the Commonwealth and New Zealand might lead the world in Y2I.C.A. enterprises. The report of the New Zealand executive showed that the Association had cleared themselves of debt. The ground on which New Zealand is seeking a separation, is that the distance from Australia is too great to allow the associations to be united in the real sense of the word.
