MILITARY FUNERAL.
THE LATE PRIVATE TUXNICLIFF. The funeral of the late Private E. S. TunniclifT, who died at Trentham camp on Saturday last, took place yesterday afternoon with military honors. After a short and impressive service at St. Mary's Church, the cortege, which was a lengthy one, proceeded to Te Henui Cemetery. The column was headed by the firing squad, comprising 14 Territorials, under Sergt.-Major George, carrying rifles reversed. The Foresters, 20 strong, immediately preceded the hearse. The coffin was reverently draped with a Union Jack, and on it were a number of wreaths. The carriages of relatives followed, and then came the Territorials and Cadets and friends. At the graveside the Rev. 11. A. Favell, who also officiated at St. llary's, conducted the last rites. A volley was lived, and then 'Bugler Sheppard sounded "The Last Tost."
The strength of companies on parade, under command of Lieut. A. 11. Johnstone was Territorials 4!l. .Senior Cndtts (No. Sfl) '2O, Senior Cadets (No. DO) 21, returned soldier 1. The pall-bearers were six members of the TerritorialsCorporals J. Inch and F. Sheppard, Lance-Corporal B. Xorman, Privates F. L. Xewell, X. Wells and R. L. Gordge.
