HOSPITAL EXPENDITURE.

MONEY BAISED IN FIVE YEARS. An interesting return showing the expenditure in hospital treatment and charitable aid administered by the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board during the past five years and the amounts levied on contributing local bodies, was presented at yesterday's meeting of the Board. In the year 101213 the sum of £2470 4s lid was contributed as. follows: —Taranaki countv £823 12s 2d, Clifton .£B9B 8s 7d, Kgmont £568 4s 9d, New Plymouth borough £503 5s 7d, Inglewo'od £59 18s Sd, Waitara £77 14s 3d, St. Aubyn town district £39 Is. In 1913-14, special rating was levied to meet the cost of the new hospital, the sum of £19,012 being raised. Taranaki county contributed £O«iS 17s, Clifton £4197 18s, Egmont £291i7 as, New Plymouth borough £4728 ss, Inglewood £f>93 lis, and , Waitara £4SG 4s. The amounts levied for the three subsequent years were shown as follows: — 1914-15: Taranaki countv £llO3 fls lOd, Clifton £486 0s 3d,, Eg"mont £OB2 18s sd, New Plymouth borough £769 4s 9d, Inglewood £74 2s sd, Waitara £9O 5s 9d; 1915-1G: Taranaki county £4107 14s, Clifton £487 7<s; Egmont £939 lis, New Plymouth borough £990 Bs, Inglewood i£S5 4s, Waitara £9O Gs; 1910-17: Taranaki county £1384 Is, Clifton £6lO 12s, Egmont £1174 15s, New Plymouth borough £1240, Inglewood £lO4 ss, Waitara £133 17s. the total sum contributed during the five years referred to was £33,042 03 4d, of which £16,500 was levied lor capital expenditure.
