GAS EXPLOSION.
IN NAPIER POWER-HOUSE. Napier, Oct t6. An ciplosion occurred at the Napie* power -house at 3 a.m. on Sunday, cause* by gas igniting during burning-out) operations in connection with the manifold. Three scrubbers were sliiftedj out of position, and one condenser vm* badly damaged. A man named Can son was blown off a ladder by the ex« plosion, and received severe bums about the arms. He is progressing favorably. This is the second cxplosioft of this nature that has occurred at the Napien power lioue, the first one being caused] m exactly the same way. - .
