■KXI.'LISII DOCTOR A VICTIM, Received' Oct. 18, 12.30 a.in London, Oct. 17. The Daily Telegraph's Rotterdam correspondent states that fourteen persons have- been courtmartialled at Brussels to-day. They include an Englishman, Dr. Hull, who is charged with providing a "Cavell Fund" to assist Allied soldiers to escape. Dr. Bull is (IS years of age and has long been a resident of Brussels. He was formerly King Albert's dentist. Messrs Brand and Whitlock, who tried to s:ivc' Nur.':e Cavell are watching the trial.

Redmond, in a letter containing a. recapitulation of the gallant services of the 10th Division, emphasises the need for immediate reinforcements. He adds: "It is a thousand pities that we should have almost betrayed the heroic dead if the division which has brought so much honor to the Irish name ceased to be Irish. The officers and men confidently hope that all who love Ireland will unite, irrespective of creed and politics, to hasten the response to the appeal on behalf of a division which has hitherto been awarded over three thousand military honors."

Major Redmond's appeal relates that in one attack poison gas, in a most concentrated form, was used, and the division suffered heavily. But Providence was on our side. HE SKEFFINGTON INQUIRY INSANITY THE ONLY EXCUSE FOR COLTHURST. Received Oct. 17, 5.5 p.m. London, Oct. 16. The report of the Committee of Enquiry into the shooting of Skeflington, says that, apart from insanity, there was no excuse for the conduct of Captain Colthurst. The report animadverts on Colthurst's failure to realise the elementary principle that the shooting of unarmed and unresisting civilians without trial was murder, whether martial law was proclaimed or not.
