Mrs. 0. H. Burgess (Mayoress) is anxious to receive gifts of all descriptions—in fact, anything from a needle to an elephant—for the jumble stall at the 'T.e,'." on Monday next. (Labor Day). All gilts may be left at the League's depot, adjacent to the New Zcakni! F.-.p.ress Company's offices. Mrs Burg-.-.s will also be glad to receive donations of cakes, scones, etc., for the afternoon tea stalls. The Procession Committee invite all uotor car owners to take part in . the proportion of motor cars on Labor Day. it is hoptfi that at least one hundred cars will pti'vicipate. Those willing to juin are asked to inform Mr. C. E. Bclii-'iiger. At the I-'rankley Road settlers' fair on Saturday, the competition for the cake, presented by Mrs. Winfleld, netted 275, and Mr. X. Allen guessed the exact weight, {lib Tho bean competition for an til painting donated by Miss BalUntyne, was won by Mr. Dewdney. A hmb presented by Mi. H.
