He gave evidence that Mahoney, who witness believed to be an Austrian, put three discs in a cigar box, and told the three, men present that the one drawing the red disc would start a fire. Witness dreiv a red disc Mahoney indicated the ways of Pitt Street and the place selected. Witne.-s received a parcel containing a bottle of cotton waste, which he handed to the police. Sydney, October 14. Another witness in the treason case gave evidence that Fagin, hearing that the police were investigating the causes of the recent fires, said he proposed to give them a change by using gelignite, covered with solution of soap, with a time fuse attached. This would produce a mild explosion.
