THE TREASON CASE TOLICE SPY JOINS I.W.W. f A'ustralian-N.£. Cable Association. Sydney, Oct. 13. In the treason case the chemist further pave evidence as to obtaining considerable quantities of chemicals for some of accused. After some of the fires he asked Fagin if he was going to use chemicals he (witness) had sold for more fires. Fagin said "Yes." Witness asked where he came in, and demanded the return of the chemicals. Fagin refused to return them and added further that considerable quantities of chemicals had been purchased. Witness identified the photo of a notorious German escapee from the internment camp as a man -living at 'Fagin's lodgings. Witness was asked to make a mixture to remove tatoo marks, but when he found it was to be used to remove marks from the German escapee he declined to apply it. Fagin then told witness he kne'7 too much and would have to do it, otherwise he would be fixed. A revi.lver was produced, and, under threats, witness removed the marks. The Gervian afterwards disappeared. At. the treason case, a witness, acting under police instructions, became a mem ftev of the I.W.W. He gave evidence that Mahoney, who witness believed to be an Austrian, put three discs in a cigar box, and told the three, men present that the one drawing the red disc would start a fire. Witness dreiv a red disc Mahoney indicated the ways of Pitt Street and the place selected. Witne.-s received a parcel containing a bottle of cotton waste, which he handed to the police. Sydney, October 14. Another witness in the treason case gave evidence that Fagin, hearing that the police were investigating the causes of the recent fires, said he proposed to give them a change by using gelignite, covered with solution of soap, with a time fuse attached. This would produce a mild explosion.
