The most difficult of all stains to take out are those maile by coffee. With care, however, the stain can be removed from the most delicate silk or woollen fabrics. Rub the mark gently with a little pure glycerine, then rinse it in lukewarm water, lay a cloth over the damp part on the wrong side, and press with a cool iron until dry. Do not wet more of the material than is absolutely necessary. Delicious Fig Pudding.—Mince very line half a pound of suet and the same quantity of figs, then mix them with half a pound of finely-grated breadcrumbs, a little sugar and enough golden syrup to make a nice paste. liutter a mould, fill it with the mixture, and boil or steam for one hour and a-half. Then turn out, and serve plain or with whipped cream, or with treacle-sauce. The latter is made by flavoring a little white sauce with le'non rind and a. teaspoonful of golden syrup!
