James Allen states that, all the shortages are included in the quotas called tip for the 2'> nd draft, and if that draft comes in with the full numbers asked for there will be no shortages of any kind whatever in camp. The Minister added that the m* rliinery of tht Military Service Act was being got into operation as fast as was humanly possible. It was grossly unfair to say there had been any deliberate delay. If there were shortages in the 22nd draft they would certainly be made up subsequently. The family shirker clause was now in force. THE PRICE OF BUTTE!?, Auckland, October 13. The provincial executive of the farmers' 'Union passed a strong resolution which protests most emphatically against continued interference by the Government with_ prices, such as in proposed with reference to the supply of flutter for local consumption.
