WAITARA.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The nfew picture theatre is advancing l apidh, and we have hopes of viewing the pictures in comfort by Christmas. The Palace will be a great improvement on what we have been used to in Waitara. Mr. Kerr, accountant of the Northern Steamship Company, met the business people of the town to-day with reference to, the proposed change of working the Northern Company's agency from New Plymouth, instead of Waitara, as it is at present. The tradesmen here strongly resent the proposed change, and Mr, Kerr has promised to lay their grievances before his company at Auckland for further consideration. The lion, secretary of the Young Ladies' Sewing Guild (Miss Berntsen) acknowledges donations ( of clothing, from Mesdanres Collier, Leech and Chapman, Miss Purdie, and Mr. Renuie, and wool from Miss N. Purdie.
