THE EMPIRE

■» UEXRY K.OLKER, THE "WONDER. I STAR," liV THE WORLD FEATURE, - IHIJ!.' WARXIXO." At the Empire Theatre, commencing tonight, there will be presented what has been described by the press as one of tile most remarkable and impressive ■ilnis that has yet been teen on the screen. Tile portion of the film that has given risi to this criticism is that in which the principal character i 3 carried beyond tile grave into a sensational visit of heaven and hell in the soul—not an inferno of flame, but a hell of mental misery and anguish, of memory and hitter repentance, until he cries to his Milker for another chance. The picture lias a lesson to as the title implies, a warning to drive home against social evils. It is a palpitating piece of real life, with an artistic denouement that adds not a little to the success of the picture. The intense but convincing acting of Henry Knlker is a revelation of histrionic art, and he receives able support from the other members of the comnany. The "Gaumont Graphic," the Lubin comedy, "The Ne,v •Janitor," and the latest official war film, "Artillery Duel in the Vosges," support the featiue. The same programme will oe screened at the matinee to-mor-row afternoon and again to-morrow night f"r' the last occasion.
